2 SCM with single R/3

Hi Gurus,

What is the implication using two SCM systems with single R/3 system when both SCM systems using for different modules (say one for DP and other one for GATP).

I know SAP recommends using multiple OLTP with single SCM. But this scenario opposit of that.

Thanks,

BKN

While I must say this is not a good architecture, if there are compelling reasons to do this (like using some latest functionality of a Higher SCM Release while retaining the old implemented on older release) ...

This is not an Issue at all ... even if Master Data is the Same.

... as long as ...

Separate Integration Models need to be done for the different APO Systems and you are typically planning different modules and different Orders (DP & GATP) out of each APO. Where it can lead to conflict is when you use the same Module for the same master data in the different APOs which I am sure you are not intending to do at all ... bcoz that is a really bad idea and instead an Upgrade should be done & 1 APO retained.

Anyway's in my experience connecting 2 APOs to 1 R3 for different APO Modules is not a Problem. If the Master Data (i.e : Product Locations) are different also, then there is absolutely no issue at all.

Hope you find this usefull. Reward points if you do.

hi - are we talking of the same version of SCM in the two instances or different versions of APO, which definitely sounds like a challenging proposition. Mapping of source system and target system based on different types of transactional data is going to be an onerous task OR are you thinking of a synchronized system at all insstances.
