planning calendar to take in account holiday period

Hi gurus,

I have the following issue regarding planning calendar ( MD25 ) that i have no idea how to solve:

- I have factory calendar with some several public holidays and it is ok.
- I’ve created a planning calendar, avoiding some period (deleting them) but the system provides me the error message: ‘Periods are not complete’

But my client desirers to create a planning calendar where the holiday period of the company (example: from 19 to 28 of March) is taken into account. This means that the client wants that the MRP could anticipate ( to the previous week) the requirements regarding the purchase requisition or subcontracting that could fall in this period ( from 19 to 28 of March)

The client wants that this planning calendar could be INDEPENDENT from the Factory Calendar and the Sales Calendar.

The aim of the activity is to create a calendar that has impact on the creation of the purchasing (anticipating them) but not on the production area.

How can I do to avoid having provisioning during the holiday period?
