We installed the ODBC driver in windows to connect to the DB which is in our server. Generated the TNSNAMES.ora, variables, etc for this, and it worked.

Continued with dp agent configuration tool, registering the OracleLogReaderAdapter.

Then in HCP I tried to create the remote source in two ways, in both we failed:

1) using OracleLogReaderAdapter:
Host (tried host name and host), Port Number, Database Name.

Fail log when saving:

(Catalog) Error reading Remote Object: InternalError: dberror(CallableStatement.execute): 403 - internal error: Cannot get remote source objects: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified.

Fail log when testing connection:

(Remote Source Editor) dberror($.hdb.Connection.executeProcedure): 403 - SQL error, server error code: 403. internal error: Test unsuccessful for remote source Oracle_prueba Reason: Adapter validation failed. Only one or none of these properties [Database Name, Oracle TNSNAMES Connection] must be set with value. at /sapmnt/ld7272/a/HDB/jenkins_prod/workspace/8uyiojyvla/s/ptime/query/procedure/builtin_procedure/impl/

It mencioned TNSNAMES file, so then we tried setting Use Oracle TNSNAMES File in true, and then:

Oracle TNSNAMES File: not sure how to fill this info

Oracle TNSNAMES Connection: should use the name we gave to the connection inside the file TNSNAMES.ora?

couldnt try because the function and location of property_orcl.ini is not clear to us.

Tried to follow the steps on the blog:

What does it mean with "<sid>adm $HOME folder" ?

Also is not very clear to me point 3, cant find "" file after installing the Oracle instant client. And the .odbc.ini file is the one mentioned when

Then we also used as a guide part 1 and 2 of:

Any suggestions?
