How to save a file locally in FPM/FBI

Hello SAP,

in a FBI-application we generate an XML-file using BOPF.

This file we want save locally - meaning in a PC-file not in AL11. We want to be able to generate the name and the location and save it without interference of the user;

Can anyone tell us how to do this?

Reading the file from PC works. We based this on this blog https://blogs.sap.com/2014/09/01/file-upload-ui-element-usage-in-fpm-driven-applications/ Apparently there is some variation on this UPLOAD with a DOWNLOAD. But we can't make it work - maybe it can't be done this way. See my remark.

We don't want to open the file and make the user save it somewhere without the application knowing where it is saved. So it shouldn't work like exporting a list into excel where the file is saved somewhere in the cache of you browser and the opened.

Can anyone help us with this?
