Documents attachment through DMS in Content Server

Dear Experts,

When we create a Document Info Record through CV01N and attach a document in it to store it in a Content Server, does it save the link/attachment only or the actual document is stored in the Content Server?

Hi Shiv,

if you checkin and save then the choosen file is fetched from its directory and copied to the content server. So the the choosen file is stored and not the document info record.

During the upload to the content server the file is getting a so called LOIO- and PHIO-ID and this is the link between file data on the content server and the document info record which is stored in the SAP system database tables.
