Hello Experts,

I am having a chat with the BW Consultant in the project Im doing right now and He asks if there is a way in BPC to load Data if the Dimension Members are not created.

As far as I konw it is konw it is not possible, it is mandatory that the dimension member are created in order to load transactional data.

Am I right?

Thanks for the posts,

I really appreciate them.

Best regards.

P.S. If you have a transactional data with members missing in BPC then why not to load members first from the same source?

Transaction data must have at least a certain minimum number of dimensions depending on the type of BPC model you have defined. For instance, in a Consolidation type model you must have at minimum Account, Category, Audit, Entity, Group, Intercompany, Currency, Flow and Time. Different model types have different minimum dimension requirements.

For each of the required dimensions at least one member needs to be defined to load data into.

You can of course create transformation and conversion files to remove or combine members from your BW tables into the BPC tables if less dimension or members exist, but it certainly wouldn't make any sense to load all data into a single default account, entity, etc.

If you are asking if there is a way to automatically generate any missing dimension members when loading transaction data, I am not aware of any standard BPC process chains for doing this and do not know if it is possible to create a custom process to do so.

Thank you very much, the Questin was because the BW consultant is asking why do I Have to create the master data in order to import Transactional data. I told him that if I don't have the dimension member created, trans data won't update.

He says that in BW you can upload Trans data even if the master data is not created. I just want to make sure there was no way on BPC to do that.

Thanks again for the post.

BEST REGARDS.

Ups, looks absolutely strange for me! Where to load without members?

Thanks Vadim,

The BW consultant tells me that in BW is possible to import Trans data even if the Master data is not created. I told him in BPC if I don't have the dimension members created, trans data won't get imporoted.

Just wanted to be positive.

Thank you very much for your post.

Best regards and happy 2018 😄
