CTS+ STMS File Transfer Error code: 8 - why does it work for system and not the other?

Hi

We had CTS+ configured for our non ABAP PO systems on on DEV (ABAP) SolMan server. A 'check transport tool' works fine.

We want to switch this over to our Prod SolMan server instead. I changed the relevant destination in the backend PO system to point to SolMan Prod, set up LPCONFIG and the RFC in SolMan Prod and made the changes in STMS.

Whenever we do a 'check transport tool' for the system now we get an error:

File Transfer Error code: 8

I've had a look through various notes and posts (SAP Note 1497388 doesn't apply) but cannot find a solution.

The /usr/sap/trans/data directory on Solman DEV and SolMan Prod both have read and write access for the sapsys group, the CTSSRVUSER user in PO has the right auths (that hasn't changed) and the SolMan systems CTSSRVUSER user has the same auth roles.

Cannot see any RFC or auth issues.

It's like the PO DEV system can't transfer files to the SolMan Prod system but can to the Dev system - but can't see why!

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Ross

"It's like the PO DEV system can't transfer files to the SolMan Prod system but can to the Dev system " - that was the case. Turns out they shared a different /usr/sap/trans area. Solution was to have all the non-Prod systems set up using the Dev SolMan system as the controller and only the Prod system via the Prod SolMan system. That way the Dev SolMan system is able to write transport files to it's /usr/sap/trans without issue. In prod files get sent across via FTP; we see them appear in the queue but they have that green arrow next to them which says "Data file must still be transferred". Alll we need to do then is click "Adjust Import Queue" at the top of the screen to transfer them.
