Hello,
We try to use Analysis for Office 2.6 on Microsoft Excel 14.0 but we got several problems to work with it.
Once the addin is installed and we open the AO with the com component enabled we always got a initial error:
"The Analysis Add-In is not registered correctly".
After that, when we need to add a Data Source, and we select one of the BW systems from SAPUILandscape.xml, we got the error:
"An exception has occurred that was not caught."
We create a new OLAP connection from BO and try to access from AO with same error.
Reg edit configuration for addin component are review as:
We have a couple of questions related to installation:
Is BI ADD-ON pack needed to be installed on BI server fro AO functionality?
Will we have any problem if we have Analyzer installed too?
Thank you
I'm not familiar with Excel 14; the Product Availability Matrix says it supports Excel 2013/2016 - see https://support.sap.com/content/dam/launchpad/en_us/pam/pam-essentials/SAP_Analysis_MS_26.pdf

Hello Oscar,
The Analysis add-on is not required on BI server unless you are using scheduling.
You can try troubleshooting - see https://help.sap.com/viewer/df90d3701aba42b9a4351caa387bd672/2.5.1.0/en-US/f26ecbe36c9b1014bf2c9a7eb...
BEx Analyzer should "co-exist" but you can't have both add-ins active at the same time.
Thank you Tammy,
The troubleshooting result is the following one:
Just after initialisation I got the error, I check the RFC on RSAO_BICS_SESSION_INITIALIZE function module and the error is what I'm getting as result.
Finally helped with the abap expert team, we debbuged the method and we found a unactived class (CL_RS_BASE), We activated it and the error disappear.
Thanks
