Hi all,

I have to diplay a log as per below note.

Note: Write the Messages to Spool / Job log for every select statement execution.

Ex: Status of the current execution, execution time and number of records

    • Do you have to do this for every select statement in a certain report?

If so, just determine the data you need and use application logging (See transaction SLG0 and SLG1).

In SLG0 you can create an object and a sub object (if necessary).

      Example: Main object = Z_REPORTS

Sub object: Name of the report.

There are several sample report in system which tells you how to do this exactly.

Its been some time that I have handled jobs, but I guess messages that you raise would appear in the job log.

E.G : After your select statement:

    MESSAGE 100(ZZZ) TYPE I with sy-dbcnt.

    ZZZ - 100 = Number of records selected &1

When you view your job log this message should show. I think its as simple as this.

    ADDED:

    And you can use

     MESSAGE..... INTO string. write: string.

This should put the result in the spool.
