About Batch determination

Sir,

I have a few doubts in batch determination, kindly go through my questions and give ur valuble suggestions.

1. While raising a sales order a message received "no search strategy could be found"

2. In delivery while going PGI a message received "the batches are not

defined for delivery item 000010".

3. While saving VCH1 a message received as "Update terminated".

These are 3 questions which i have faced during working on batch determination.

Kindly explain me.

Hi Supraja,

Yes these errors occure while doing batchmanagement.

If you want to assign batch in the sales order it self, then you have to create a search strategy so that batch can be determined at sales order level.

And in a delivery if you materials which are maintined in batchs then unless you dont mention the consored batch in the delivery, PGI can't be done. Because system will ask for the Batch of thematerials so that while doing PGI, it will update the concered batch.

Pl check the following batch management proceess and if you still get issue pls let us know

Steps to configure Batch Management

1) Specify Batch Level

Menu Path Enterprise Structure> Logistics General> Batch Management --> Specify batch level and activate batch status management Transaction OMCT

2) Batch Number - Activate Internal Number Assignment

Menu Path Enterprise Structure> Logistics General> Batch Management --> Batch Number Assignment --> Activate internal batch number assignment Transaction OMCZ

3) Batch Creation - for Goods Movements

Menu Path Enterprise Structure> Logistics General> Batch Management --> Creation of new batches --> Define batch creation for goods movements

4) Characteristic Value Assignment -- Update Standard Characteristics

Menu Path Enterprise Structure> Logistics General> Batch Management --> Characteristic Value Assignment --> Update Standard Characteristics

5) Activate Batch Classification for Goods Movements in Inventory Management
