Variables setting in BW BPS

Hi Gurus,

I want to allow users to copy data from one version to another using variables in BPS thru User Input . I have got the characteristic value Version in the cube . However I am unable to attach a 'Version From' and a 'Version To' variables to the same characteristic.

How can I accomplish this.

Any help is deeply appreciated.

    I did. I am using the standard COPY function. However when I attach variables to the From Value and the To Value , they don't popup on the layout for the users.

    What do I need to do

    Thanks

      Arvind,

      If i understand correctly, you are trying to execute Copy function in BPS0.If thats the case the variables will not pop-up.Am sure you would be knowing to set the values for variables using 'Set Variables' option in BPS0.

      Else the best way is to include these variables in Planning folder along with required functions and layouts.Hope this helps.

    Did you try to use a standard COPY planning function in BPS?

    Either;

    1 if the users need to select from different values for the variables, include them in the header selections for the folder/layout, to be used by a function

    or

    2 if the choice is limited, set up a copy function(s) with the variable values set in the owning level, and link to a function button(s) in the layout.

    regards, Stephen
