What is Receipt Reservation in MMBE (Stock Overview)

Dear All

I have created reservation for a material. When I go to MMBE, I can see the quantity reserved is put under Column Reserved. In addition to it, I also see other quantity under the Column Receipt Reservation.

I have found some help from internet and Receipt Reservation is also known as Confirmed Reservation.

My question:

1. From a reservation number, how do I know it is confirmed or not?

2. From a reservation number, how do I confirm it?

3. Does it mean I can only do GI/GR on the reservation that is confirmed already?

Thanks.

I think what you said is partially correct. We can stop the Movement by deactiving the Movement Allowed Check box at the reservation Item.

Pls enlighten me for the questions I asked just now.

My question:

1. From a reservation number, how do I know it is confirmed or not?

once you reserve the stock you can check for particular material in MMBE reserved stock mb24

2. From a reservation number, how do I confirm it?

in t.code mb24 you can check the process

3. Does it mean I can only do GI/GR on the reservation that is confirmed already?

you can do on that res stock or on the existing stock

I know reservation report program, it is just a report showing the list of reservation based on Movement type Allowable, Open Status and etc.

Please let me know how to have quantity created under the column of Receipt Reservation in MMBE?

Hope my question is clear and easy to understand. Thanks.

After reading all above answers in MMBE the stock which shows under receipt reservation quantity is manually created reservation quantity.

For more clarity in stock overview(MMBE) reserved quantity shows the MRP generated quantity and receipt reservation quantity is manually generated reservation quantity and we can close these 2 by MB22 or by doing TECO of the orders.

With this component, you make a request to the warehouse to keep materials ready for withdrawal at a later date and for a certain purpose. This simplifies and accelerates the goods receipt process.

The purpose of a reservation is to ensure that a material will be available when it is needed. It also serves to simplify and accelerate the goods issue process and prepare the tasks at the point of goods issue.

It is also important that reservations are taken into account by Material Requirements Planning (MRP), which means that required materials are procured in time if they are out of stock.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT IS THIS RESERVATION PROCESS DONOT STOPS GI for other Dept.

( For Ex. A Store contains 100 litres of Grease,

Dept A Reserves that 100 litres through reservation.

This means in system only it will be showing as Reservation by that dept.so on seeing this the store keeper has to plan for safer stock keeping in mind that this 100 liters has to be issue to Dept A.

But at the same time if Dept B come and take that 100 Litres of Grese means...the SYSTEM WONT RESTRICTS this GOODS ISSUE to Dept B.At this time this reservation jus serves as an Alarm showing that Dept A reserved and it won affects the total available stock.so even after reservation the same 100 litres will be showing in UNRESTRICTED USE only and it will be also showing in RESERVATION stock.

the only thing that has to be remember is

Reservation Does not restrict of issuing goods other than the RESERVED person. Its open to all to GI...But as the above words it accelerates the process of GR & GI
