Customizing Synchronization/ Distribution: Does SAP have a long term plan ?

Hi gurus,

Of the various valuable functionalities offered by SolMan, is it true that Customizing Synchronization/ Distribution not upgraded or expanded by SAP?

I am in the middle of an exercise where I have to give clear 'roadmap' to the project team on use of this functionality for meidum/ long term.

Before I go ahead and eangelise this functionality, I wanted to know your kind views on where do you stand this headed for.
