Hi,

1> is recording mandatory in XI,in order to update transaction XK01,r else we can do with recording?

2> can an idoc used inside a server proxy in order to upload the data in the sap?

Yes, There is no recording concept in XI. XI is just middleware, which transmits data bitween EXTERNAL systems to SAP. Recording will be done and can be used in Proxy. When ever the proxy called in inbound, the message will be wrapped-up and using recording the standard transaction will be updated.

IDoc can be congifured in proxy, but better practice is, use the Function module, recording or BAPI to upload data, it works very easyly, instead of calling and configuring IDoc.

am using xi,i want to uplad the data into r/3?should i do recording at r/3 side in order to upload using proxy?

u have to do recording in r/3. you can call the recording program or piece of code in proxy. soon the inbound proxy called, the data in the message will be mapped in the recording program. these are general recording steps only, as you perform in BDC.

Why don't U find any BAPI or RFC for the same purpose? if U R working on z-transactions then go for recording.
