Confirming Scrap

Hi all,

Please read below

I created work order for 10 pcs .

Out of which 4 pcs got scrap during operation so during Co11n, I confirmed yield as 6 pcs and scrap as 4 pcs.

Next I received goods in MB31 i.e all 10 pcs in good storage location. Now i posted those 4 pcs from good storage location to scrap storage location using 311(mvt type)

Next i posted MB1A - 551 those 4 pcs from scrap storage location for scrapping.

Please explain if this is the correct process ?

What is the effect of confirming 4 pcs as scrap during co11n?

Scrap in confirmation means extra 4 pcs from the components (261 mvt )will be consumed from stock.Its better to automate GR in confirmation

why extra 4 pcs will be taken in 261?

Suppose u r putting yield 6pcs and scrap 4 pcs in confirmation

then ur GR will be for 6 pcs and ur components GI will be of 10 pcs.

And if u r transferring Scrap to another loc then why r u doing 551 , it will lead to reduction in scrap in that loc and u will not be able to sell the scrap. its wrong

When i put scrap of 6 pcs in yield and 4 pcs as scrap in Co11n. After that i do GR of 10pcs in B20E(storage location)

Now i move scrap 4 pcs from B20E to B17D(deft parts) storage location

Now I do MB1A 551 to issue scrap from B17D storage location.

This process is working fine in testing. I want to know What is the effect of confirming 4 pcs in Co11n.

Dear Shallu,

Please understand that you can't use CO11N + scrap and MB1A + 551 at the same time. So, whether you use CO11N with scrap or CO11N with only yield and after that MB1A + 551.

When you give the scrap qty in CO11N your component will be consumed via mvt 261 and you can report this scrap in COOIS. In MB51 you can see only consumption via 261 and only if you compare yield and raw material consumption you can figure out that you had extra raw material consumption.

If you want to use MB1A + 551 you have to confirm all your FG/SFG (PrdOrd's header material, even those of bad quality) and after you get all your goods via 101 you can scrap the goods of bad quality via 551. In this case you scrap the SFG/FG and not the raw material. Suitable report is MB51 in this case.

I hope I'm not mistaken...

Thats what i did,

I goods issue for 10 pcs

Confirm 5 pcs scrap and 5 pcs yield

Now receive 10 pcs(good/bad) using 101

Now post 5 pcs for scrap MB1A - 551

Please confirm if it is correct.

If u post 5 pcs scrap by 551 mvt then stock will be reduced by 5 pcs.

Can u tell me if u have to sell the scrap , how u will sell it.

Best way:

transfer the scrap material to rejected st loc in blocked stock

and dont consider the blocked stock from MRP run.Now from this st loc , u can sell the scrap

yes I have transfer that scrap to another storage location that is excluded from MRP.

But please confrim that this procedure i explained before is correct or not.

I have told u earlier that 551 with MB1A is not advisable i.e u dont have to do this otherwise u cant sell the scrap
