Dispatcher stopped- Work processes dying

hello folks,

Could someone please help me?

I have a new system installed with SAP ECC 6.0(ABAP + Java (addin), Windows 2003, Oracle 10G on it.

When i start the instance, dispatcher is going into stopped mode after a while. I've been checking the developer trace for the dispatcher....at a certain point after the j2ee framework is started everything seems to go haywire.

Hello Prashant,

Execute the command R3trans -d and check what is the return code for this, if its giving 0 then R/3 is able to connect to DB.If it is not zero paste the trans.log here for further analysis.

Also paste the dev_w0 trace.

The Error ORA-1033 is evident here. Check SAP note number 655240.

Hi,

It is very clear from the dev_w0,dev_w1 files that it is problem with Oracle indufficient privelages(ora1033).

You have run the sapdba_role.sql ,sapdba_conn.sql ,present in /oracle/dbs .

Details mentioned in Note 134592 - Importing the SAPDBA role ( sapdba_role.sql,sapdba_conn.sql)

This should get solved by running this scripts, you have to run these scripts with correct options , follow the note religiously.

Hi ,

The dispatcher is goign down because the work process is dying out , because of soem reason like not able to connect to the database or something. the actual picture will be clear from dev_w0, dev_w1

Please paste the contents of dev_w0, dev_w1 files in work directory, the n will know th exact reason.

Hi

Please check the host file entry on your server. From log it seems it is trying to connect 127.0.0.1 (local host).

The host file should contain ip address and hostname of your SAP host.
