Empty Column as Spacer

In the old BEx Query Designer we would either create a formula that would be set to 0 and set the description to be blank to create a "spacer" column but it seems like in the new BWMT it requires a description to always be filled in. It seems you can set it to blank and save, but if you need to make a change to that same query and open it back up, it will pre-populate with the default description. Is there a way to always have the description as blank?
