Hello Guru:
I need to integarte all the BI reports we have into portal.
Now, we already set up the connection part and the BI reports could be successfully executed in portal, my question is, how to provide a page for all the reports.
I want to have a page, basically list all the links to all the reports at the left side, by clicking each page, the right side will display the report.
And I want to create a role to include all the reports in portal.
I tried to create a page in portal, but it seems it always give me a very small area for report, and it seems I could not add a hyper link to the page which let the user click.
So, would someone give me a step by step instruction about how to do that?
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Eric
Hello Eric,
If I am understanding properly, this is what you need to do.
Go to Content Administration -> Portal Content
Create a Folder for convenience to do this right click on portal content which will open a context menu select Folder and give the name and ID.
For iView Creation
in the Folder created above right click to create iView from the template select BI Web Application iView.
if BI 7.0 iView select the System Alias name for BI system and in Web Template field add TEMPLATE=WAD Template if it is BW3.5 iView need to give TEMPLATE_ID=WAD Template, create as many you want.
In the iView properties select Height type which will be fixed by default to full page.
so the size of iView will not be small.
For Page Creation
Right click on the folder and select Page from Context menu, give the name and ID and in the final step select open for editing. now add the iView to the page.
If you add all the iView in a single page iViews would be one below the other.
If you want to have as a different link add a iView for page. I mean for each iView create a Page.
For Workset Creation.
right click on the folder and select workset from the context menu. give the name and id in the final step select open for editing. add the pages to the workset.
For Role Creation
right click on the folder and select the role from context menu, give the name to role and id . in the final step select open for editing add the workset to the role.
in the properties of role set the ENTRY Point to Yes Mandatory.
Now as per you requirement. you will see each page as a link which will open in portal content area.
Hope this helps.

Hi Eric,
Why dont you try this. Inside your Role create one workset and to that workset add your BI iview . then all the Bi iviews can be seen in the left side in Detailed Navigation iview..

My company went with a SAP-certified portal add-on called bNavigator.
We found it made maintaining the links to BI or BW reports (plus anything else) much easier.
It also has nice features around data governance that you canu2019t do out of the box with SAP.
Cheers
