Good morning Dell,

We have a report rpt Crystal Reports 2008 that fails to run on

clients BI web applications -> InfoView but if we run it from other environments NO fails

java RLRG_INTRA -> ok
Thick clients (Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.1.0.892) -> OK

We executed the RLRGListadoLicitadores report:

http://madrid/InfoViewApp/logon.jsp [^]
http: //madrid02: 8080 / InfoViewApp / logon.jsp [^] (Lab)

In both cases I get the same error:

"Error in RLRGListadoLicitadores file: Error in F_fcresolucion formula:" StringVardevolver, 'This field name is desconocido.Detalles: error Kind "

I attach the formulat F_fcresolucion but appears to be correct.

Greetings.

Anthony

What does "desconocido" translate to in English? Is the database that the report is connecting to the same across all environments? If not, I would try to run the query that's in your command in a database tool (SQL Server Management Studio, Toad, etc.) in the database that this environment connects to in order to see whether there are differences in that particular database that might be causing this error.

Hello Dell,

Desconocido means "unknown"

Is the database that the report is connecting to the same across all environments?

Yes it is,

I start my thick client Crystal Reports 2008 in local (Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.1.0.892) . I open the same report that execute from InfoView RLRGListadoLicitadores.rpt in fact I open the report from the same repository "CMS" I execute it and I do not get any error but when I execute it from InfoView I get the error "Error in RLRGListadoLicitadores file: Error in F_fcresolucion formula:" StringVardevolver, 'This field name is desconocido.Detalles: error Kind " that you can see in the screen shot attached.

Can the config of InfoView be the cause of the error ?

What do you think?

I attach the formulat F_fcresolucion but appears to be correct. Is it correct?

Thank in advance

Best Regards

Antonio (Madrid, Spain)

Hi Antonio,

It looks like your formula is switching between using ' and ". This usually causes problems. You can use either one but in a formula, you need to use just one format.

Try this:

StringVar devolver;
if CStr({Comando.FCRESOLUCION}, "dd/MM/yyyy") = "01/01/1000" then
     devlolver := ""
else
     devolver := CStr(Comando.FCRESOLUCION}, "dd/MM/yyyy");
devolver;

Make sure FCRESOLUCION does not contain NULLs. That would cause problems too but I would expect a different error.

Good luck,

Brian

What type of database connection are you using for the report? Is the report in Infoview connecting to the exact same database as when you're running it in Crystal? If you're using an ODBC connection, you'll need to make sure that the 32-bit ODBC connection on the server is pointing to the correct database. You'll also need to check the Database Configuration for the report in the CMC to make sure it's connecting to the database that is should be. If the databases are different, I would connect from Crystal to the database that is being used by the server. Then go to the Database menu and select "Verify Database" to make sure that the one the server is connecting to has all of the same fields.

Hello Dell,

Thank you very much for your answer.

I am not using ODBC connection in InfoView just ORACLE..

Crystal is using the same database as the server (InfoView)

I have attached two connections of InfoView for the same report ,

-Connection OK ---> I execute the report RLRGListadoLicitadores.rpt from InfoView it and I do NOT get any error

-Connection Bad -> I execute the report RLRGListadoLicitadores.rpt from InfoView I get the error that you klnow "Error in RLRGListadoLicitadores file: Error in F_fcresolucion formula:" StringVardevolver, 'This field name is desconocido.Detalles: error Kind "

Do you have any idea about why if I use Connection Bad I get this error :

"Error in RLRGListadoLicitadores file: Error in F_fcresolucion formula:" StringVardevolver, 'This field name is desconocido.Detalles: error Kind "

in InfoView ?

The problem is that I cannot use the Connection Ok because I have to deploy the report in the environments of validation and production

Maybe when they execute the report with Crystal they use sub reports ?????

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

Antonio

1. Is the denivel2 alias defined in the tnsnames.ora file?

2. Do you have the 32-bit version of the Oracle client installed on the BI Platform server where this doesn't work?

3. In the Database Configuration, turn on "Espicificar un perfito de tabla personalizado" and either leave the prefix blank or set it to the correct table prefix for the connection. NOTE: This will only work if you're joining tables to get the data for your report or you're using a stored procedure. If you're using a command, you'll need to either delete the prefix from the tables in the command or you'll have to edit the command for every environment.

Yes I have.

Is the denivel2 alias defined in the tnsnames.ora file?

I have translated your question to the people who manage the server.

I do not know exactly what you mean:

NOTE: This will only work if you're joining tables to get the data for your report or you're using a stored procedure. If you're using a command, you'll need to either delete the prefix from the tables in the command or you'll have to edit the command for every environment.

Please coul you give more details of the text above

Thanks in advance.

Maybe the report with Crystal use sub reports ?? Coul it be the reason of the error????

Hi Dell,

Please see the screen-shot attached with the connection to database with Crystal

I think the connection of Crystal in Local that you can see attached could give you an answer of why in InfoView "denivel2" is not working !!!! I GUESS

Please let me know your opinion

I execute the report with crystal in local

Thick clients (Crystal Reports 2008 version 12.1.0.892) -> OK

And I do not get any error. ERROR with InfoView using denivel2

Thanks in advance
