Lumira Server 2.1 - BW Customer Exit variables cause the app to crash

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered a problem with Customer Exit Variables

when hitting BW with Lumira 2.1 (Server)

Workflow:
1. Add a new dataset to lumira

2. Insert new chart > Drag in a Customer Exit Variable >

3. Result > instant crash.
Amongst the massive stack trace error is:

Java.lang.unsupportedOperationException: No selection state support! {query name} at com.sap.ip.bia.dataaccess.consumer.impl.Characteristic.getSelectionStateCapabilities

More bizarre is if we run the same query / object combination from the Desktop Client version of Lumira it runs fine?

Which version/SP of the BI platform are you using?

I would report his as an error to SAP Support

Yep I've just got the guys here to raise a case for it.

Incidentally they're running 4.2 SP5.

Would be interested to see if anyone else out there has successfully used exit variables in the Lumira Server tool?

Did you ever get resolution on this? We just ran into this and we're actually seeing the same issue from Desktop client as well...

It was a bug in 2.1 Applying SP1 resolved it for us

/Edit - we only saw the issue in Launchpad, the desktop client always behaved itself

Thanks - we've applied latest patch locally and that fixes the issue, except for queries that have *ONLY* customer exit variables; they result in a blank prompt dialog with only the Cancel button enabled...
