Hi Gurus,
My understanding is that forecasting is predicting the future based on past consumption. Prediction is done either on time series or causal or judegemental.
But in case of consummables, there can be no trend or seasonality for consumption (for eg. Why 100 markers was used in Feb and only 20 in March is not a seasonality or trend)
Similarly there can be no causal reasons.
Similarly service level or stock out loss will not occur with consummable. Hence there is no need for an accurate forecast.
Can someone explain when do we use forcasting with CBP
Rgds

hi,
forecast base planning is also a type of cbp because it forecast the future requirement but on the base of the past consumption value as it happens in case of the reorder point
Plz chk the below link for CBP
