CIF in Demand planning Transfer to R/3

Hi Guys,

It might sound like a stupid question, but here is a situation, we have our client usign R/3 and APO DP. We want to send the data planned in Demand Planning back to R/3, we have earlier CIFed materials and Plants to APO

created distribution definition for PIR order type.

Still the orders are not getting transfered to R/3.

Please suggest if I am doing anything out of sequence?

And does anyone know what RFC call does APO make to transfer PIR to R/3?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I would like to reward anyone who answers.

Thanks,

Hi All,

We are having similar difficulties in getting our PIR to publish back to R/3. Per another suggestion we have checked to see if we have a profile and the answer is yes and it is active. I have checked and double checked that I have models for product and location in active CIF models. The answer to this too is yes.

I have run my univariate forecast and saved out my results, but when trying to publish them back to R/3 we get nothing. I have also set up the publication of the PIR. I can see they show up in the /sapapo/cq and I can manually push them to R/3. But when I then go to R/3 and check to see if the stock is there there is nothing. I am running T-codes /AFS/MD04, J3A2.

At the suggestion of another consultant I also tried pushing the PIR manually utilizing /n/sapapo/dmp2

When doing so I find I have no PIR's at all even though I can see the results when I save them in DP and when I try to push them via a batch job.

Can anyone give any insight as to what the problem may be?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

As recommended by Anjali, do the following:

Prerequisites

You have installed the correct Plug-In version.

You have set up your products in SAP APO by choosing Navigation ® Master Data ® Product from the SAP APO menu tree.

You have set up your locations in SAP APO by choosing Navigation ® Master Data ® Location from the SAP APO menu tree.

You have defined the split of product demand to locations in one of two possible ways. For more information, see Location Split.

If necessary, you have defined a product split in SAP APO. For more information, see Product Split.

You have created a data view for this task in SAP APO. The use of a separate data view to transfer a demand plan to SAP R/3 has performance benefits.

The data view contains the following:

A future planning horizon only (no historical horizon unless you want to transfer the historical horizon too)

A planning buckets profile with one periodicity only (if it contains more than one periodicity, the job is aborted with an error)

Only the key figure(s) that you want to transfer to SAP R/3

No actual rows (unless you want to transfer them to SAP R/3)

You have set the planning strategy of each material in SAP R/3.

Process Flow

1. Create a transfer profile.

2. Create an activity.

3. Create a planning job.

4. Schedule the planning job.

5. Review the job results in the job log, and take any necessary action.

For some reason its not working for me either.

it should work, we don't use it here but I tried and with v5.0SP11 there may be issues.

I am able to transfer demand from SNP to R/3, but its not working from DP to R/3. I don't have any problems with CIF or any other settings, It actually deletes PIR that exist in R/3 but does not transfer actual values.

I tried to create the CIF of materials and Plants, Do i need to CIF anythign else if my system is demand planning only.??

I think I have maintain everythign mentioned by you, (Publication and distribution types)

Does anyone know what "RFC call does APO make to transfer PIR to R/3?"

So that i can debug while the RFC call is made?

How can I check this?

Thanks,

Check publication for plants in APO and also see if the CIF queue to R/3 (from APO it will be outbound) is clear and not blocked.

Manish,

You can find the Publication Rule in

Go to SPRO > Advanced Planner and Optimizer > Basis settings > Integration > Publication > Maintain Object specific settings

You will require to do relevant settings for transfer of demand data to R/3 ..

Please refer following link for more details

Vinod,

Where can I find the active publication rule?

Hi,

Please check whether you have created a transfer profile using transaction /SAPAPO/MC8U to send the data across from APO to R/3. You would need to specify all relevant fields in the screen which pops up and also ensure you have active publication rules in APO for PIR's.

Do revert in case this doesnt work.

Hi Everyone,

Your suggestions have greatly helped me to transfer the demand form APO to R/3. I htink there was soem hard coding from R/3 which was creating problem for performing the transfer. Our development team is still woring on it.

I really appreciate you helpful suggestions, I am rewarding points.

Thanks,
