I understand that the Sales lead is now obsolete and only available because some users still use it, however, can someone explain to me the difference between the 2? As in, when would I use one opposed to the other. Is it just a difference of who the lead comes from (marketing vs. sales? )
Thanks
Prior to release 1408, there were two LEAD objects, a Marketing “Lead” and a Sales “Sales Lead”. These were separate objects with the idea that a marketing team would manage marketing leads/qualify them and convert them to a Sales Lead.
After working with customers, product management made a decision to go from two separate lead objects to one lead object. This will be easier for ongoing maintenance for customers (one object instead of two).
Decision to make the Marketing “Lead” the go-forward object was made.
The Sales Lead object will be phased out in time.
