Understanding DWS variants

Dear Experts,

I am SAP-HR student.Kindly help me understand the following pertaining to the DWS variants

Rule 01 Holiday class ..X.......,then HolClNext day is XXXXXXXXXX & at other places it is ..X....... or XXX........? same goes with day column. What does Rule 01,or 02 and 'X' and 'dots' indicate in all three columns? What does variant A & B,F,S indicate?(Screenshot attached)

For ex, I have to assign half day for 2nd & 4th sat of the week. I have created a DWS of 8 hrs (morning shift), 6:00 to 14:00. So, How can I use the DWS variant rule here?

for the record, I have assigned a holiday for Eid on 16/6/2018 & HC 1,Eid falls on Sat.
