In a Data source , for some field the lower case option is checked.

Hello Experts,

In a Data source , for some fields the lower case option is checked.

What is the significance of it??

Is it means, it will also allow lower case data records to load it to the PSA of that data source or anything else.

I am also not able to unckeck the lower case option for those 2 fields.How can I uncheck it??

May be the data source is migrated to 7.x version so the data source is showing if the filed ia case sensitive or not.

But I am not sure.

Do anyone have any idea??

This issue I am facing only in development system but the lower case option is unchecked in Quality and production system,

Only in development system lower case option is checked.

So , in development system,I have checked the type of the field(UNIT) -->data element-->domain-->lower case is checked there .

I have also checked the same in the Quality system:

checked the type of the field(UNIT) -->data element-->domain-->lower case is checked there also.

I got the same setting exists in quality system and development system when I clicked on domain, lower case is checked in both the systems. But in the data source the lower case option of those 2 filed are are checked in development system and unchecked in quality system

Then how it can be the reason??

#Note:The data source of development system was migrated to 7.x version and the data source in quality system is in 3.x version.

Hi Ipsita,

Yes, it indicates that the content of the field is case sensitive. You can't change it at the dataSource level, it is coming from the type of the field. A field is defined from a data element, itself defined from a domain and at the domain level you indicate if the field is case sensitive or not (SE11).
