Technical users for communication arrangements

Hi pros,

I created a communication arrangement for a standart web-service with autentification method User Id and password. I used a business user for it. But business user has to change their password every 3 months and could be blocked by accident.

But I noticed that while creating a communication arrangemt for custome web-services a new technical user is created automaticaly. Could such users be used for communication arrangements based on standart web-services?

When creating communication arrangements a new technical user is created like this:

Is it a special user for the arrangement itself? Could it be used only for that web-service?Does this user require a password change every 3 months? Or does this user has a separate security policy all together?

BTW is it possible to switch off "password change every 3 months" mechanic for business user?

Best regards,

Nadezhda Rukavishnikova

Dear Nadezhda Rukavishnikova,

Techinical user ID will be generated while creating communication arrangement is for specfic communication system and not for specfic communication arrangement, this technical ID can be used for all communication arrangements for that communicated system, it has unrestricted access (including custom work center),unlimited password validity and yes it has security policy but different to Business user.

You can not switch off "password change every 3 months" , but you can create and assign a new security policy by make "maximum password validity" as 1000 days.

Hi praveenkumar.sunkari

can you please help me know , if the changes made in transaction document by this technical user be tracked ?ie. If I use communication arrangement for Odata service and a transaction is updated using OData externally, Can i find in Business Objects' event script (after modify or before save) that data modification is happening by technical user and hence the Odata service ? I need to handle some special scenarios and I am not sure if i can track/trace the changes done by technical user in PDI - Is there a way ?Thanks,Suchita
