EWM - HU type determination

Hi All,

Incorrect HU type and packaging material is getting picked under PICK-HU tab during the inbound delivery process. The below is my business scenario. Please help with your inputs:

Two materials: Test1 & Test2

Two Packaging materials: Pack1 & Pack2

Two HU types: E1 & E2.

The packspec with packaging material Pack1 and HU type "E1" is created for Test1 material. The packspec with packaging material Pack2 and HU type "E2" is created for Test2 material. The conditions 0PAL, 0WHT are maintained for both the packspecs and a common 0IBD is maintained for auto packaging.

Now my inbound delivery is created for Test2 material. During the warehouse task creation, I can see the system is proposing the HU type "E2" correctly but when I create and save the warehouse task under PICK-HU tab, the system generated the HU's with HU type "E1" and packaging material "Pack1" which is incorrect.

My requirement is to have correct HU type and packaging material as per the packaging material defined in the packspec.

Please let me know if any more information is needed.

Thank you for your help.

Krishna

Hi,

activate the log for the warehouse order creation, that should give you some pointers.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi Juergen,

Please find attached WO log and also the PICK HU generated HU's.

There are 4 HU's which were generated. I am expecting two HU's to be of HU type E1 and two HU's to be of HU type E2.

Thanks

Krishna

Hi Juergen,

I verified the WO log. I have two packing profile and two WOCR rules for for two packaging articles. The WOCR is always referring to the first packing profile sequence as per the "Define search sequence of creation rules for Activity areas".

My expectation is to pick 2nd WOCR under PICK-HU tab.

Am I missing something in config?

Thanks

Hi Krishna,

As per my understanding, you may require 2 WPTs ( may maintain 2 different activities ) with 2 WPT Control Indicators ( assume Test1 & Test2 ), then WPT Control Indicators should be maintain in Product master ( Test1 & Test2 ) to determine WPT, either maintain WPT to filter for creation of Warehouse Order in WOCR ( your case- you already created 2 WOCRs and also create 2 filters ) or maintain activity for determining WOCRs if you created 2 different activities for 2 WPTs. System will determine WOCRs as per WPT/activity.

Kind Regards,

Ajit

Hi,

you write you have "two WOCR rules for for two packaging articles". What do you mean? Two warehouse order creation rules - but according the log only one is found. Or two packaging rules? You can assign only one.

Also: how does the determination of the packaging specification looks like? And do you have the product listed under "products"? - I do not think that this influences anything here.

Or do you have the product as part of the condition record? AFAIK this is not used during the creation of the pick-hu, the product is not available as access in this moment. But I guess then you would get an error anyway.

OK, I am only seeing now that you talk about a pick-hu during INBOUND processing. Usually we talk about pick-HUs during PICKING (that‘s why it is called pick-HU).

Can you explain a little bit more what you are trying to achieve? You simply want that a HU get‘s created for putaway?

Hi Juergen,

Yes, I am talking about the HU's generated during putaway and under pick-hu tab. The below is my requirement:

I have two products (TEST1 & TEST2) with two different packaging materials (PACK1 & PACK2) of different HU types (E1 & E2). During Inbound process, delivery is having two products (TEST1 & TEST2) both are related to only one storage type and activity area. WO is generated as per the activity area. I have only one activity area for which one WOCR and one Packing profile assigned.

Under one WO due to same activity area, expectation is to have HU's with both HU types E1 & E2 generated for TEST1 & TEST2 product.

For example: Under PICK-HU tab

HU0001 - PACK1 - E1

HU0002 - PACK2 - E2

Thank You

Hi,

Why don‘t you create the HUs then directly with the creation of the inbound delivery? I don‘t think that this works during the WO creation. In the moment when the HU is created for the warehouse order, the information about the product is not available.

Hi Juergen,

Thank You. Yes, tried with autopacking but it is not ok for Business. As they would like to have some manual changes through before HU creation through palletization tab in /SCWM/PRDI. I think autopacking will not allow this change.

Thank You

With Regards

Krishna
