Valid from date - Equipment - Dismantle date

Dear Experts,

Valid from date of the Equipment also changes when we dismantle equipment, suppose if we are changing func.loc of any equipment then valid from date should not change (i think so) but here it is getting changed (with the dismantle date, and we cant assign new func.loc. in the back date) ???

hi

Yes it should change because you have dismantled the equipment hence this equipment master record without installation location will be valid from the date of dismantle .hence it will change .

Also when you dismantle the equipment with todays date ,how will you install with back dated to another FL

Thanks a lot, i thought valid from date stand from w/c date equipment is valid in SAP or the upload date. But now i think it is the date from which it is valid on the assigned functional location?? is it

yes of course,you can see the usage list of the equipment where you can find the usage times wrt FL
