Hi, Is there a way to use Account based calculations in BPC Embedded for Planning type models?

In BPC Standard, we can use Business Rules for both Planning and Consolidation type models. In BPC Embedded, however, only CONSOLIDATION type models can use Business rules.

Is there a workaround to this?

As far as I know, this is a limitation in BPC Embedded and there is no way to enable Business Rules for Planning type models.

SAP Notes 2240898 and 2500002 discuss Consolidation on BPC Embedded and while it does not explicitly say that Planning models are not supported, all steps refer to Consolidation type models only.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply and sharing the notes. Yes, those are consolidation notes. We would like to have this for Planning model. The other option is to use Planning function on Aggregation levels for planning. However, with that option we will lose the flexibility of user maintaining the mapping for Account based calculations.

Hi,

BPC Embedded is more generic and not based on the CATE model as BPC Standard, cf. the following link about a concept comparison:

BPC Embedded uses planning functions for things like 'BPC rules', this also valid for consolidation in BPC Embedded: there the existing 'rules' also use planning functions.
