Kanban

Dear Gurus,

I am going to use KANBAN cycle for my ROH material

My material is BOBINS which client is using to bundle the cable

that should b ready for production.

I want to run the procurement through KANBAN.

I have created one storage location "KY00 = kanban yard"

I have Defien in-house production strategies, Calculation profile and strategy of copying calculation profiles.

I have Exclude my material storage from MRP run in MMSC

my material type is ROH.

Now can any body please sugest the next step.

or if I am wrong please make me right.

1. First thing before you need to implement kanaban - you have to check the following

a.is the client using the kanban ?If yes how long and how precise are they working with ?

b.If so what type of kanban they use ?

c.Do they have enough discipline in monitoring and maintaining the kanban board?

d.Do they have steady state of flow for the material?

Once you are convinced with this then you can go for kanban.

2.in case if your client is not having kanban and if you are trying to implement it the following will be constraints

a.You have equip them with kanabn principles first which will take them some amount of time to understand ,implement,stabilize etc

b.You have to expose them the SAP-kanban also..

if you have validated all the above then ...give us the scnenario ..we will guide you on this...
