View HANA performance trace file (*.tpt)

I activated the performance trace from HANA Studio in the Trace Configuration and let it run for one minute:

If I open it from the "Diagnosis Files" tab, it contains some meta information as well as a whole bunch of characters:

What is the character string supposed to mean and how can I view the performance trace file properly?

That file is meant for analysis by the SAP Customer Support (see "SAP HANA Troubleshooting and Performance Analysis Guide" for details).

It can be read by a tool called "HDBAdmin" which is unsupported (outside SAP) and undocumented for customer use.

To add further de-motivation, I dare to write that even if you used this tool, there is very little immediate insight for the SAP HANA user to get as the information presented require detailed knowledge of the implementation details for the SAP HANA query processing (i.e. HANA source code level access and understanding).

I've written a bit about SAP HANA performance analysis and optimisation in the past. You might still find some of the information both here on SCN and my personal blog (https://lbreddemann.org).

Too bad. I was hoping that I can draw some runtime information from it. Also due to lacking X-support in HXE, I figured out that HDBAdmin is not working under HXE. Is that correct?

Anyway, thanks für the answer. I better be looking for alternative ways to get what I want 😉
