Dear All,

Currently I want to perform a client copy with SCC9, in case there are huge amount of log activity that will fill up the log directory and lead to database stop, could anyone tell me how to turn off the logging function by any means?

Thanks for your time

Alvin

Hi,

Disabling the log archiving commands differs from database to database. Please let us know which DB you are using?

You can schedule the Log backup frequently during the client copy time to avoid log directory getting full situation.

Hi Sam

Thanks for reply,

The DB is MSSQL Server 7.0 , very old version database.

In SQL server enterprise, the schedule backup job has been setup for the transaction log for each hour already.

Thanks

Hi Alvin,

I think there is no archive log mode in sql server.,sql server works in different way from Oracle.Transaction logging, it's impossible in sql server. If your transaction log is very big and full you can truncate or shrink the transaction log.

Sam
