What is the importance and use of Value updation,Quantity updation, pipe.mand and pipe.allowd in T.code OMS2?

Hi Friend,

For every material we need to track it's movement. For every movement we have different gl acount assignment. Now also we have this flexibility that whether we want to track the movement of material with its value or quantity or by both. Again we have two other tabs here which is industry specific. And you can understand with F1, as we have discussed the basic idea here.

Now i will give you onw example: suppose you have 10 quantity in one store. So the oment if few material is going out of the store location you need to maintain that these many quantity is out flowing. for example 2 quantity of material is going out of the store location. Now suppose you want to maintain that what was the value of the material and hence you can maintain that the value of that material was Rs100.

hi,

when we tick the quantity update check box at OMS2 for the plant + material type combination we can post stock into the plant. So incase there is an increas or decrease of plant stock it is updated. Now with respect to the quantity there is always a value to the materail which is maintained in the material master standard price. Based on the movement and valuation class this value hits the relevant GL accounts configured by the MM account determination done at OBYC. Pipeline material is something like water, electricity, gas etc.
