Hi rajesh

tcode is VOR1

The purpose of cross division is

If we maintain common divisions it reduces our work and duplication of work is also reduced.

If you have 2 sales area's that means you have 2 divisions also.

But if you maintain only 1 division(common) for all other divisions then your customer is entitled to be in other divisions also

For example

if your sales area is 1000 / 10 / 10 and 1000 / 10 / 20 .

and if you maintain in common divisions for division 10 as 10 and for division 20 as 10 also . that means your customer is available in both the divisions

Now if you want to create a customer , XD01

select the sales area 1000 / 10 / 10 ( as in 20 also you entered 10 only) and create customer.

Now when you create a sales order VA01 and enter just order type (OR) and dont enter the sales area in the entry screen and just get in

once you enter sold to party , system will ask for both sales areas. so you can select any one sales area based on the requirement.

Hi,

Common Distribution Channel and Common Division are maintained so that if any master data like customer or material maintained with respect to one distribution channel can be used in other DCh. It prevents the multiplication of master records.

Eg: A customer is created for say sales area 1000/20/00 then the same customer can be used in sales area 1000/30/00 if we maintain 20 as common distribution channel. Hence no need for extending the customers...the same for materials also.

Check t.code VOR1 and VOR2

Hi Friend,

When you want to allow sales activity of a sales area which contains a division under a sales area with other division.

Example: Suppose you are selling light motor vehicle of TATA. now a customer is saying that boss give me 10 light motor vehicle and two trucks also. so to avoide such incident you allow a division which is heavy vehicle to be sold out under a sales activity happening with light motor vehicle.
