How to upload production order WIP

Hallo Gurus,

The scenario is like this:

In legacy they have open production orders and the same to be uploaded to SAP. For that I will pass JV entry as

WIP A/c..Dr

To Change in WIP A/c

With the above entry my FI tiral balace will tally. But however the same cost to be maintained in Production order.

How i will go about this.So that in the subsequent month when i do settlement then this entry will be reversed.

All of our go-lives (10) are accomplished by completeing all orders in legacy and eliminating WIP if at all possible.

If there were orders left open, when the inventory files were loaded, we added all issues into WIP as inventory; in SAP we then created the order and issued the material into the order, now WIP is in SAP.

It is much simpler if you can just close the orders.

You can upload production order with Material of its nearest stage. Say in Production order of legecy, you have just issued Raw Material then in SAP You upload the same as Raw Material stock and issue the same in Production order.
