User attribute - Cost centre

Hi All

Can any one explain me what exactly the use of the attribute "cost centre" for a user in EBP oranisation structure.

when this user will create a purchasic doc in SRM i.e. SC or PO

SRM will pass this cost center to the connected FI system for FI entries.

because when SC/PO made with account assignment assignment to CO object (cost centre) is mandatory.

when PO is creted in SRM/ECC for committment posting also cost center is required
