STO Planned Delivery Time

We are creating STOs. On the Material Master for the plant that is trying to receive the material we have a planned delivery time of 28 days. When we create the STO for our supplying plant, the conversion process (req to PO) takes that Planned Delivery Time from the Material Master and places that in the Planned Delivery Time in the PO. What this means is that if we create an STO and do not update the Planned Delivery Time in the PO to only Transit Time the plant has no forward visibility of the order and they become past due on the next day because they haven't shipped them yet.

Here is an example:

For Material ABC:

Planned Delivery Time is 28 days on Plant 1s Material Master

Transit time from Plant 2 to Plant 1 is only 4 days.

If a Purchase Req is converted to a PO the Planned Delivery Time in the PO shows 28 days even though the true Transit Time is only 4 days.

At Plant 2 they receive the PO and it looks like they are Past Due from the get go because the Planned Delivery Time in the PO is showing 28 days even though true transit time is only 4 days.

How can we get the Planned Delivery Time in the PO to represent the Transit Time even though the Planned Delivery Time is large since our plant requires a certain amount of lead time to get the product available to us.

We cannot change the Planned Delivery Time in plant 1 to 4 days because then we would be taking product away from older orders in plant 2 in order to fill a newer older at plant 1.

Thanks for your assistance,

Craig

Hi

You are entering planned delivery time as 28 days in material master. This is the procurement time from external vendors V1 for Plant 1.

Now maintain source list for this material in plant 1 using ME01. Enter the validity date, vendor, pur org, Select Source list relevant for MRP option.

Create info record for vendor V1 and enter pld del time as 28 days here.

Go to material master and enter pld del time as 4 days.

Run MRP, system will give 28 days for PO for Vendor V1

and 4 days for STO.

Check this in ur test environment. This should work.
