Reporting agent - Control queries

Hi All,

I'm trying to precalculate 3.5 web template having all 7.0 queries using reporting agent.

I want to filter characteristics using control query. My web template has two queries and couple of check boxes.

The control query has only two characteristics which are same as that of main query (which I need to filter). I have some temporary hard coded restriction in control query.

But after precalculation only check boxes are correctly filtered but the queries are not filtered at all. I have tried attaching variables to main queries in characteristic restriction as well as default values area. But didn't work. I also have tried adding a key figure to control query and showing the result rows but didn't work..

Is there anything else we need to do for control queries?

I'm also trying for reporting agent variants on main queries but aren't working either. What could be missing?

Thanks..

Abhijeet

Control query is used to generate a report for each result, control query must include only one characteristic

With several dropdownbox there is no way to use control query .....

There is only one control query, for only one characteristic ......

Thanks for the answer.

In this case, how will I be able to filter upon multiple characteristics?

Will reporting agent variants on main queries on web template be the only way? Is there any prerequisite for variants..coz when i'm precalculating based on variants, it doesn't precalculate saying "Requested Document Could Not Be Found"..but logs show precalculation was successful..
