Can we link a person number to a SAP user id?

Question: Has anyone ever linked the person number with their SAP user id, if one exists?

Situation: We create a download file from SAP to a help desk application with employee data. (Name, phone, etc.) We would also like to include the SAP user id if there is one. So, we have the PERNR from the HR tables, and are trying to get to the a user id of a table like USR02~BNAME.
