HR Data mapping

Former Member

Hi,

I've already done some research on it and have complied the list of fields( eg. table name and description, data type, character length, etc.) for Data mapping that will be required to transfer data from Legacy to SAP system.

However, I'm looking for more inputs from all the experts out there!

Thanks!

Hai..

U can acheive this with the help of screen program in SE80.

SE80 is a ABAP workbench, doesn that mean ABAPer can change the length of the data field to any number and data type to Numeric/alpha/ alpha-numeric as per the client requirement using this tcode? If so, then this resolves my querry! Please confirm.

Thanks for the response Ram. I found out in the form it has something to do with creating info objects and I believe ABAPer does that, they define the character length and data type. Do you guys concur?

well, not really the details of it.Just the heading since I'm only making the template for now. What fields/data elements I would need is client specific so, I'm not looking for that.Meanwhile if,you can also tell me how do we determine the data type and character length of a data element? eg: In Table PA0002-> field VORNA(First Name) has a data type CHAR and character length is 40...but how do we conclude this? Is there a way where we can check it in SAP? I tried playing around tables/IT's but couldn't find this info.

Any help will be appreciated.

Many thanks!
