QueryProvider Technical Aspects

Hi All,

Can anyone explain how QueryProvider as Transformation/DTP source object behave?

I remember that BEx query got 750,000 cells limit and I wonder whether this limitation also applies to QueryProvider. Also when we do the extraction, does it calculates the whole result in OLAP engine or package by package just as defined in the DTP?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Donnie,

No, there is no limitation. I have several models with 3 or 4 millions of records daily and I have one big load with 60M records.

What I have seen in DTP, it has an standard size when you create the DTP (2147483,647) very big number.

This means the system load entirely the query and then it sends the records to the data target.

However I also have models where the system creates a 50,000 limit. I think this depends of your data model.

As you can see, the system can manage this kind of loads if that was you concern.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards from Mexico.

Hi Gonzalo,

Thank you for the screenshot.

This is the kind of load test which is quite hard to be done in development environment.

Currently, I already have around 200,000 records in production and will grow every month.

We'll see how the system performs after several years passes.
