Hi gurus,

I have a query that is I want a BOM which is not related to MRP But it exploded in creation of Subcontracting PO. Please help me I have very urgent requirements

HI

i had tried by the BOM Status but it is not working. i had tried with explosion type having phantom assembly off & planning off for that particular material. (change the material planning strategy to 52)

but still it planning

please help me

Hi Babu,

If my understanding is correct, you do not want MRP to generate requirements for components. But, for subcontracting you want the BOM components. We can tackle this two ways...

1. Create alternate BOM 2 for subcontracting. Maintain production version for both BOMs - PV1 for Non subcontracting BOM and PV2 for subcontracting BOM. Assign PV2 in the info record for subcontracting. Generally, MRP will look for first BOM or first prod version (if selection method 2 is maintained in MRP view).

2. With just one BOM, have the components MRP type as ND. MRP will not generate requirements. Still, you can explode it for a subcontract schedule line.

Dear ,

To do this u need to carry out the follwoing :

1.Goto OS23 where u need to create an status 02 where MRP Explosion check box will not be ticked.Assing this BOM status in BOM header

2.Creat BOM with usage 3

Hope this will solve the problem.

In transaction OVZG you can define the requirement class for the Transfer Requirements ,wherein which you set No MRP indicator as 2.

So that no planned praposals will be generated for this on the

Transfer Requiremnts.

Try maintaining the BoM with status which is not relevant to MRP in OS23.

Create a new BOM status with the MRP Explosion indicator Switched off and assign this BOM status in the BOM header.

You can create BOM with usage- 1 for Production (MRP) and with Usage -3 for subcontracting.
