If you have completed the installation, you can do the Post Installation steps. Download the ECC6 Installation guide and the step should be mentioned in that.

Here it stopped I have tried to retry and its still running the same report from 2 hours..can you please check this..

1. Phase "RUN ABAP Reports"

For example: 'Executing ABAP report RUTTTYPSET...'. When this step is executed there maybe a system overload due to background jobs automatically started in parallel by the system. Wait some minutes then press the 'Retry' button. Repeat this 'Retry' until the step was executed successfully.

See Note 1013391 - IDES ERP 2005 ECC 6.0 SR2

You can try restart your server and try again

Great Shaji, Thanks for the note I have already retried once, if the same error occurs I shall try to "Retry" again. I shall keep you posted once it is done.

Stop the Installation

Stop SAP services (if any) in services.msc

Stop the DB

Restart OS

Once it is up :

Start the DB

Start SAP services, if you had stopped any

Start the Installation

What is your H/w Config? Is the paging set right ?

Former Member

Shaji actually I am Installing this on VMware and physical H/W configuration is 3 GB RAM 1 TB of HD. Where is the paging can be set ? (I am using MS SQL).

When we restart all the services and start over again, it will take another whole day to come to this point of phase right ?

Please let me know if I am wrong. your help is appreciated.

Then in that case, just do the rest of the steps except the OS restart.

To set paging : Right Click on my computer -> Properties ->Advanced -> Performance -Settings -> Advanced ->Change ->Custom Size ->Initial size -> 4000 -> Max Size ->10GB for 32bit and 20GB for 64bit -> Set ->Ok

OK Shaji but when I just tried to close the sapinst window, now its just showing the hourglass its not exiting from sapinst. If I try to close this by my task manager that would totally stop the installation right ?

Former Member

Yes, you can stop it from the task manager

Any other services related to the installation also should be stopped from the task manager
