sap-locale parameter has no effect!

Hi all,

I am trying to open my application in a particular language using sap-locale property. When I open the application as a stand-alone one, the property does attribute to the change in the lang of the application.

In my scenario - the application is a URL field in SRM-MDM catalog which is deployed as a business package in EP.

When I try to open the application from the catalog, after loggin into Portal, the 'sap-locale' property has no effect! The application opens in the language of the user.

The language settings for the user are not maintained in Portal but in the backend. Is this the reason for such a behaviour? If so, is there any work around to open the application in the desired language inside the catalog - may be using some other parameter?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Subathra M

Hi Subathra,

Sap locale property is used if translation is not defined in the xlf file for the language currently used by the user.

If your application supports a language and that is being set as the language of internet explorer , the application will automatically come in that language and if it does not supports the language it will come in the language defined in locale.

Thanks & Regards
