Hi All,

Can any one tell me about the different types of users involved in FireFighter?

To my understanding, FireFighter Administrator is the person who has all the authorizations.

But however, i could not understand what is the role of following users:

1) FireFighter Id Controller

2)FireFighter User

It would be a great help if any one can let me know abt this.

Regards,

Faisal

Hi,

FireFighter Id Controller:

when the users will have to work in the same time need to assign each developer his own firefighter id.Indeed, when a firefighter id is in use by one user, it cannot be used by another user .So, If the activity covered by the firefighter id is to be used occasionaly and by one user at a time, deals one firefighter id for multiple users; In other cases, it is for an FF id for each user.

Hi Faisal,

The Fire Fighter Administrator has "all " access to the Fire Fighter functions, configuration, etc.

The Fire Fighter Controller can audit the use of Fire Fighter IDS through the FF Log Report and through EMAIL notifications based on how you have Controllers table defined.

The Fire Fighters are the actual users that have been designated to use a FF ID to perform functions that are not in their day to day authorizations.

I'm sure the set up for all of these ids can vary depending on the shops preference.

We have defined an id in SAP called FFOWNER. This id is assigned the FF role associated with the OWNER. I use this id to assign "ownershio" and "controller" to the FF IDS. This allows me to control who receives the email notifications - I have set up the FOWNER id in SAP with an email address that is actually a "mail list" so multiple users receive the notification, - Security MGR, Internal Control, Security Administrators and Computer Operations.

All of the FF IDS are defined and administered through SAP Security. Some of the IDS are permanently defined to our developers to support emergency situations whenever needed. All FF activity is reviewed by Internal Control with follow-up to the FF user's manager.

Hope some of this helps
