URGENT:::: Create New Unit of Measurement

Hi all,

I need to create a new Unit of Measurement (UOM) , for USD (US Dollar) , we don't have any UOM for USD ,

Please any one let me know how to create new UOM?

SAP delivers standard units of measure, which is normally sufficient. Simultaneously, it also delivery standard currencies, and USD is one of them.

Units of Measure use the Data Element MEINS and Currency uses WAERS. Are you suggesting you wish to create a new Master Data element in MEINS named "United States Dollars (USD)"? This is indeed an interesting situation and appreciate if you tell us the business case driving this.

I really appreciate your time to look in to my request ...

yeah it is really a interseting situation here with my client but I am able to solve this with the help of MM guy, who generally takes care of UOM,

so here is the scenario, in order to do PCA Distribution in New G/L with SKF's receiver rule, and my business rule is to distribute the acual Transport expense to different Productlines according to the revenue captured in those Product lines,,

ex:

AP invoice $ 100,000 to one GL acct, and one Cost center with Profift center associated with it,say "Profit"

say we have 4 product lines A,B,C,D having revenue of 10000,20000,30000,40000 dollars respectively,

we need to distribute AP invoice amount 100,000 dolalrs to these product lines according to the revenue , so I created one SKF in FAGLSKF and asigned 4 product line there which gives 10%,20%30%,40% ,

for that SKF needs to be having USD as measuring unit , ofcourse i can take EA also but which looks very odd so my team suggested to have a new UOM called USD , so I asked MM guy to make one UOM, thats it,

done,,

then create cycle, then executed it ,

working fine,

friends, I am able to figure out some thing here, CUNI this is the code to create new UOM , but it is done by MM guys not FI so I asked them about new requirement,

it is pretty simple to create a UOM. SAP would have delivered some, check the ISO value for them as well.
