How to fix an IQ DB after disk error?

Dear All,

Here's a problem -- some hard disk failed on the IQ database several days before, and some IQ tables can't be read after that. Now we can located all the bad blocks are all on 1 iqfile -- So is there any recommended way to fix this error?

Can we use "sp_iqcheckdb dropleaks" and "drop table" to fix most of these errors after good disk replaced? Or can we use "sp_iqemptyfile" to move all the useful data on this IQ file to other good iq files and then drop this iqfile from dbspace?

Please kind advice. Thanks in advance.

Regards

Eisen

    Hello

I do not have an exact answer on your question, but some time ago we exactly the same issue - more than 5% of our IQ DW db objects were corrupted because of issue with Vmware and then we solved it by restoring it from the backups, but that would be very nice if some one from SAP IQ product group could share their expertise.

    Hi, Mike,

Thank you. But this time -- it's different -- customer found the backup is corrupted too... There's a hardware issue while flash copying the LUN between storages... So now we don't have backup to restore... So we are trying to save most data and then drop the issue LUN and drop this issue dbspace ...
