How to get FQDN (fully qualified domain name) for SAP server.

hi ,

I use C RFC SDK to connect to SAP system, from connection properties, I can get the remote server name, but not fully qualified, Is there any way or method to get the FQDN for remote connected SAP system?

Field HOST in system struct SYST can also return the name of the current application server, but not FQDN.

    Hi,

there is a profile parameter configured in SAP called "SAPLOCALHOSTFULL", which usually contains the FQDN of the application Server. This profile parameter is read by (RFC enabled) function module SAPTUNE_HOST_NAMES.

That means, in case the profile parameter is configured properly (there are a lot of systems, where this profile parameter only contains the hostname, but not the fully qualified domain name of the host), this FM seems to be a smart opportunity to retrieve the FQDN of the application server.
