Hi,

We are getting the below error when installing SBOP Explorer 4.2 SP03

"Failed to update cache for execution. Program will exit".

Now this seems to be a common problem with some SAP notes in CR, but for Explorer we don't have any document.

There is no Antivirus present in the server.

No Firewall present.

Windows 2012 R2

We have downloaded the installation from from SAP site and ran the installation locally with administrator rights.

Appreciate if you can share any idea.

this means that installer has problems making changes in InstallData directory.
See KBA 2091076 for some steps to troubleshoot and the KBA's it is referencing.
Also, make sure you're using the same account to install update as the one used to install product originally.

Thanks for the reply.

The KBA # 2091076 seems to be not available.

I am not installing the update SP03, but installing the complete version of 4.2 SP03 with the same administrator account.

KBA should be available now.
You're still adding a new piece of software to an existing installation, so it needs to access and work with InstallData directory(s).
Look in the setupengine.log produced by the install to see what exactly it can't do there.
