Creating process chains containing an infocube which contains a DSO

Hi All,

I am trying to create a process chain for Delivery Services which contains an infocube(0PUR_C08).the infocube in turns contains a DSO(0PUR_O01) which contains 4 datasources.please give me the flow of the process chain and how to link the DSO and the infocube..

Hi Manjari,

The flow of process chains should be as below:

Start process>IP1(of DS1)>IP2(of DS2)>IP3(of DS3)>IP4(of DS4)>Activate ODS(ODS *PUR_01>IP_ODS(which was generated from ODS and this will loads to Cube and create and drop index before loadgin to cube.

Hi Manjari,

If you have four datasources and if you are loading data into a single Data target from those Datasources, you should follow the order according to the fields and the dependency on the primary keys in those loads. To load data from different datasources into a single data target, all the datasources should have common field which represents a primary key.

For example:

Datasource1 contains Fields F1, F2, F3.

Datasource2 contains fields F1, F4, F5.

Here F1 is the common field in both the datasources.

If you want to load data into single Datatarget from these two datasources, you should load according to the requirement and the retrieval of data based on each other. If you want to link all the fields, you may need to write routines in the update/Transfer rules. It all depends on the dataflow.

Based on these you should have the order in process chains.

If you are loading data into different data targets from different data sources, you can load anything at anytime either parallelly or one after the other.

Hi Manjari,

Particular oder is not need for loading 0PUR_001/0PUR_C08. Youcan use all 4 DS's in parallal.

As advised by Vachan,I followed the steps he mentioned above..i completed till Activate ODS but in the model,I dont have any infopaks for the cube...there is one update rule for it...what shud i do...Please guide me...

Hi Manjari,

That update rule was created by ODS so you have to create export datasource on that(right click on ODS and see the generate datasource) then only you can seee the datasource for the ODs which start 8PU*. using this you have to create an IP and then load the data from ODS to cube.

Hi Manjari,

Check the update rules from where you are loading the cube.

Check whether you are loading from any other Info provider or infosource.

The technical name would be either "8XXX" or "XXXXX". copy that technical name and search the same in "Infosources" in RSA1.

You may find it.

I checked it in the Infosource and I got the infopack..but in the checking view,i m getting this error..."InfoPackage ZPAK_493LBOB1NRDOTE3R579NDFF67 is generated; NOT able to be used as loading variant".

what should I do???

Dear Manjari,

Create a new info package which loads to ur info cube..and save it..

give this info pack now in process chain.i hope it will help u..

Hi Manjari,

Check the error once by clicking on "Display Messages" and click on "?". You may get a solution why the Infopackage is not available as loading variant.

The solution provided by Venkat is right but we need to check the error why it is not available. The infopackage may be used in any other chain or it may be locked by any other user.

Hi Manjari,

If you are loading one infopackage in another chain, what is the need to load the same again?

If you are not using the earlier process chain, deactivate the process chain or delete the process chain.

As one infopackage can load the data targets mentioned in that infopackage.

if you want to load another data target other than the data targets mentioned in the first infopackage, create a new info package and use the new infopackage in the process chain you need.
